Why I Write Romance

I have been writing stories since I can remember, and ever since I first started trying to write novels, they were romance novels.

I didn’t exactly know it at the time.  As a reader, I didn’t get introduced into category romance until I was in college.  Before that I had read some inspirational romance, but the minute I sat down with my first actual romance novel, I realized that it was exactly what I’d been trying to write since I sat down with the idea of a novel.

My writing has come a long way from that first story, from that first romance read, but it always turns into a romance.  I can’t seem to help it.  I think love stories are absolutely the most entertaining, fulfilling, and interesting stories out there.

I don’t only read romance.  In fact, some of my favorite non-romance novels have very not-happy endings.  But they all deal with love in some way.  I prefer to write about the happy side of romantic love.  I just can’t seem to help it.
