My long-term subbing job is complete, and I am free to work only a day or two a week again, yay!
One way I am going to “celebrate” is to focus more on my writing… not just the doing it, but the fine tuning my craft part.
Which is why this Friday I am highlighting a website I have highlighted in the past and will probably highlight in the future.
Writing.com
I joined writing.com when I was a freshman in college back in 2001. Back then it was called stories.com and it was very different than it is now. But, stories.com was a great community for a beginning writer like me and it really helped me learn a lot as a reader and a writer.
This weekend, I plan on using the giftpoints I accrued over the past few years to buy an upgrade which will allow me to post my longer works, and rejoin a romance writers critique group that I was once a part of.
If you are like me and are having trouble finding a CP, a community like writing.com is a great place to turn. (Or, you can email me!) The great thing about writing.com is they really work to make it feel like a community and it is rare to run into trolls or mean spirited people, which is why it’s also a great place for beginning writers.
If you aren’t a part of a writing group, I would highly suggest checking out writing.com.
Woo hoo! Congrats on finishing your subbing job! Here’s to having a lot more time to write!
Haha, thanks, Lacey! I’m a little excited.
