Process & Change

So, I’ve been working with this new process… write the synopsis first and so far… it’s not really changing the way I write.

Maybe it’s because this book is a little challenging, maybe it’s because I haven’t been able to manage more than ten minute snippets of writing here or there, maybe it’s something I don’t even know… but everything is going pretty much the same.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing.  Better to not change than to change it for the worst.  And there are still some positives to it.  Mainly, I am writing the synopsis a few times as I work on my story, which hopefully improves my synopsis writing.  Usually when writing my synopsis at the end I can convince myself my novel is more important than this silly synopsis and not give it the work it needs.

So, in the end while it may not have produced the results I wanted (at least not yet), making this change still led to a positive.

Interestingly enough, now that I am not working full time, my focus is change.  Getting my son on a schedule, eating better, being more organized.  I’m not sure how much will stick or work, but it’s worth a try… because it usually leads to at least a positive or two.
