Last week my CP wrote a great post about how to bust the “I Suck Funk” blues. My favorite piece of advice, of course, is to keep writing. Particularly the clogged drain comparison.
Another great piece of advice was over at the BookEnds blog last week. I’ve never been a trend follower, but when I let my brain get obsessed with submitting over writing I know I begin to question things. What if an editor doesn’t like a hero that does x,y,z? What if an agent thinks heroines that do x,y,z are stupid to the point where it can become paralyzing.
Don’t worry about anyone else. Not at first. Just write the best novel you can. You are the only piece of this pursuing publishing puzzle you can control.
