I’ve been blogging for a lot longer than a year, but this is the first blog that has STUCK for a full year of pretty consisting posting. I guess I finally found my “niche.” Writing! Wee!
I’ve learned a lot in the past year. I’ve written a lot of novels. I’ve rewritten some novels. I found an awesome CP. I’ve submitted. I’ve been rejected. I have waited and waited and waited. One contest final, a few partial requests, a full request, a never ending wait (300 was not the magic number).
But to be honest, aside from knowledge and experience, I’m pretty much in the same place I was a year ago. That’s okay (I keep telling myself that) because I’m still trying, I still believe I can reach my goal, and I’m growing and learning every day.
Some days I get overwhelmed. Some days I am overwhelmed by excitement. I know I won’t give up, even when I’m at the lowest of lows.
It’s hard, but it’s amazing.
Are you entering the New Voices comp this year, Nicole?
I am planning on it. Haven’t decided what to enter, but I’ve definitely started to think about it. What about you?
Somehow I missed your 300 post. Wow you’ve got a record wait there. I like to think it’s a good thing. They must love it so much it’s being passed up the editorial food chain and you have to wait for each to get to read it 🙂
Ha! I think 300 days is still a little long for them all to read a partial! =)
