Falling Off the Writing Wagon

I haven’t been writing lately. One day last week I plotted out my next story, but I didn’t write an actual word in the manuscript itself. Coming off a summer where I spent almost every free moment writing, I can’t believe how easy it’s been to fall back into not writing.

On the one hand, I neglected a lot of things around the house that really need doing. And there was a couple week stretch where baby was not sleeping well at all. I wasn’t feeling well and… you get the idea. Excuses galore. The excuses aren’t terrible, but they’re excuses nonetheless.

I’ve got my Kindle loaded with new books to read on vacation, and I’m hoping they’ll inspire that writing spark to return. Even if it doesn’t, I know I need to get back on the writing everyday wagon. Life is going to throw me for a loop in March when Baby #2 comes along, so I need to get not just the house together and ready for a second child, but I need to get myself ready to become a Mom of two without losing myself as a writer.
