Last night I was up until midnight, not because baby kept me awake. I stayed awake to watch the last game of the MLB season unfold for those teams trying to make the wildcard.
If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably figured out I love baseball and I love the St. Louis Cardinals. And let me be honest, about a month ago when the Cardinals were something like 9 games out of the wildcard, I had no hope that they’d be making the wildcard race interesting, let alone actually winning it.
But that’s the thing about baseball. It’s 163 games of you never know. And that’s why I love it. I never understood people who say baseball is boring. Anything can happen. In a timed game, that’s not true. If a team is winning by 21 points in a football game with a minute left, you know the game is over. But let’s say you’re the Tampa Bay Rays and you’re losing 7-0 in the 8th, and you come back to win it against the Yankees to make it into the playoffs… That’s exciting stuff!
So, regardless of what happens in the playoffs, I am so excited the Cardinals got this far, that I have a team to root for, and that baseball for me will last another few games before the cold months of having to watch hockey with my husband. You want to talk about boring!
