When I was in high school I decided I was going to be a kindergarten teacher. I did what was called “cadet teaching” and worked in a kindergarten classroom one hour a day and loved it.
Then I started working in daycare, and I changed my mind. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I didn’t think elementary school teaching was it.
Today, I was a substitute teacher in a 3rd grade classroom. Now, I never have to wonder if I made the wrong choice in forgoing elementary. Elementary school is not for me. I think we so rarely get to know if the choices we made are the right choices, we just have to wonder. So, it was nice to be reassured on this one choice.
